Runaway Pig Found In Northern Suburbs Back With Owner

(CBS) -- A runaway pet pig gone viral in far north suburban Ingleside is back home where she belongs.

The caption below a photo of the piglet on the Round Lake Animal Hospital's Facebook page asked, "Does anyone recognize this little pot belly pig face?" More than 1,170 people shared the photo as the super-friendly, one-year-old, house-trained porker charmed her keepers and asked for belly rubs.

Lake County Animal Control's Leslie Piotrowski says the worried owner quickly spotted the photo and called to claim her.

"It's a happy ending for everyone," she said.

The piglet apparently sneaked out of her yard and was picked up by someone who spotted her nearby. Dozens of people offered to board or adopt the piglet before the owner showed up.
