Man Shot, Critically Wounded Near Red Line Station In Roseland
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A shooting in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side left a man critically wounded and suspended Red Line service Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old man was in a fight with a male in the first block of West 95th Street about 1:05 p.m. when the male pulled out a gun and shot him, according to Chicago Police.
He was shot in the left shoulder and ran into the 95th Street Red Line station, where he was found by police officers and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
A person of interest is being questioned by Area South detectives.
As a result of the police activity, Red Line service was temporarily suspended between 95th and 87th, according to the CTA. Shuttle buses are providing service through the area.
