Man In Custody After Standoff In West Rogers Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was in custody Tuesday afternoon, after he barricaded himself inside a home in West Rogers Park for nearly four hours, following an apparent domestic dispute.

Police said they received a call of a person who barricaded himself inside a building in the 6400 block of North Ridge Boulevard, following a "domestic situation" around 9:20 a.m.

A female escaped the building, but a man remained barricaded inside. SWAT teams responded to the scene, and police closed nearby streets.

Police said the situation ended peacefully shortly before 1 p.m.

The male was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for observation.
