Robberies Reported Near 35th Street Red Line Station

(STMW) -- Police are warning CTA riders about four recent robberies near the 35th Street Red Line station.

In each case, the suspect or suspects approached victims on CTA property and demanded money, sometimes threatening or using physical force, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.

One robbery happened Sept. 4 at the station at 35th and the Dan Ryan Expressway about 10:30 p.m., the alert said.

Three other robberies happened nearby in the 100 block of West 33rd Street on Aug. 28, Aug. 30 and Sept. 12, police said.

The suspects are described as one or two black men between 18 and 30 years old, between 5-foot-5 to 6-foot and 150 to 200 pounds police said.
