Richton Park Man Dies 7 months After House Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 61-year-old south suburban man died Friday of injuries he suffered about seven months earlier in a Richton Park house fire.

The fire happened sometime in January at Milton Popovic's home in the 22600 block of Cicero Avenue in Richton Park, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Popovic was taken to St. James Health in Olympia Fields, where he died at 3:47 p.m. Friday of complications of smoke and soot inhalation in a house fire, authorities said. An autopsy ruled his death an accident.

Richton Park fire officials could not immediately provide more details on the fire.
