Reward Offered Leading To Arrest In Arson Case

(CBS) -- Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward to help find a man suspected of deliberately setting a tent on fire in Naperville.

Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering the money for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible.

On Monday, around 1:54 p.m., a tent set up on property located behind the Mobil gas station, 1420 E. Ogden, was destroyed by fire.

The tent was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Police believe the tent was the target of an arson. The owner has been described as a person involved with public protest and is very opinionated on social media, police said.

The person of interest and his vehicle were captured on surveillance.

The person of interest is described as a male, white 50-60 years old, six feet tall, medium to heavy build, prescription glasses, gray/white colored hair, short sleeve button up shirt, faded jeans.
