Reward Offered For Information On Attacker In Willowbrook Home Invasion, Sexual Assault

(CBS) -- A $5,000 reward is now being offered in hopes of catching the man who beat and sexually assaulted a Willowbrook woman.

Illinois Crime Commission Chief Jerry Elsner says they put up the reward because this crime was so vicious.

"It had to be done right away," Elsner says. "This person is an animal."

The attack happened on Saturday when the woman was walking to her car. The suspect asked for money, then forced his way into her home, sexually assaulted her and stabbed her.

Elsner hopes the large reward will prompt someone to come forward.

"The rewards still work," he says. "If the reward is sizeable, they will work. Probable a family member is going to turn him in."

Police found what they believe to be the suspect's car in Brookfield on Monday. No arrests have been made.
