Residents Displaced After 2-Alarm Fire In Lawndale

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Multiple residents were displaced after a two-alarm fire early Thursday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The fire started at 1:42 a.m. in a three-story vacant building in the 4200 block of West Grenshaw and spread to a two-story building, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Frank Velez. The fire has since been put out.

No injuries were reported in the fire, although multiple residents of the two-story building were displaced, Velez said. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Thursday morning.
