Reports: Bulls' Jimmy Butler Will Play For Team USA In Olympics

(CBS) Bulls wing Jimmy Butler's star continues to rise.

Butler has been tabbed as one of 12 members of Team USA to participate in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this August, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. It will be Butler's first experience in international competition.

By joining Team USA, Butler will be reunited with former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, who's an assistant on the national team.

While the full roster hasn't been officially announced, it's expected that Kevin Durant, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins, Kyle Lowry and Draymond Green will be a part of Team USA. Butler averaged a career-high 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season, when he was named an All-Star for the second straight year.
