Reports: Bears WR Morgan Agrees To Community Service To Get Assault Charge Cleared

(CBS) Bears receiver Josh Morgan has agreed to do community service in exchange for a misdemeanor assault charge in April against him being dropped, CSNWashington.com and the Chicago Tribune reported.

Just days after signing with the Bears in April, Morgan was accused of punching valet driver Kenneth Johnson outside a nightclub in Washington D.C. Morgan maintained his innocence all along, and now he can have the charge erased from his record if he completes his 32 hours of community service and other terms of the deal, CSNWashington.com reported.

Morgan will be one of many competing for the Bears' No. 4 receiver job when training camp opens in late July.

The 29-year-old Morgan had 20 catches for 214 yards for the Redskins last season.
