Reports: Bears Poised To Sign NIU's Jordan Lynch

(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears have tentatively reached a deal to sign former Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch as an undrafted free agent, according to published reports Saturday.

Bears General Manager Phil Emery declined to confirm the reports at a media briefing about the NFL draft, saying the team doesn't comment before players are signed.

"Jordan had a very good visit here, and he expressed a strong desire to be a Chicago Bear," Emery said.

Lynch, a Mt. Carmel High School alum and Heisman Trophy finalist, led the Huskies to a 24-4 overall record.
