Reports: Adam Gase Has Eagles, Browns, Dolphins Interviews Lined Up

(CBS) Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase will interview for head coaching jobs with the Eagles and Dolphins this week, according to reports.

This news comes as no surprise, as Gase was widely expected to be a hot candidate this offseason. Last year around this time, Gase impressed the 49ers enough that he was their first choice to become coach in San Francisco, but the contract talks broke down late. The Falcons also showed interest in Gase last year before hiring Dan Quinn.

Now, Gase may soon have another opportunity to get a leading gig. He will interview with the Eagles on Tuesday, according to ESPN. He will then interview with the Browns on Wednesday and the Dolphins on Thursday, the NFL Network reported.

The Eagles just finished a 7-9 season, while the Browns went 3-13 and the Dolphins went 6-10. Cleveland holds the No. 2 pick in April's draft.

"We wish him nothing but the best," Bears coach John Fox told WBBM Newsradio on Monday morning. "He's done a great, great job here.

"We have plans in place. This is not old hat for us, as far as guys moving on and getting those opportunities."

Under the direction of Gase, the Bears were 21st in total offense and 23rd in scoring offense this season. However, several key skill players were hurt for long stretches, and Gase was widely lauded for helping quarterback Jay Cutler become more efficient, less turnover-prone and make the most of a spare-parts offense.
