Report: Tim Jennings Is Already In Tampa Visiting With Lovie Smith

(CBS) You probably saw this one coming.

Just two days after being released by the Bears, two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Tim Jennings is in Tampa Bay on Tuesday visiting the Bucs and coach Lovie Smith, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Jennings' first two seasons in Chicago were played under Smith, and he's most comfortable in a zone-based scheme like Smith uses with the Cover 2. Smith has reunited with a handful of former players since leaving Chicago.

The Bears cut Jennings because they liked other players better, coach John Fox said Monday. Jennings, 31, also indicated the Bears wanted to get younger.

Jennings had been with the Bears since 2010 after playing four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He led the NFL in interceptions in 2012 with seven and made the Pro Bowl in 2012 and 2013.
