Report: McClellin Undergoes Surgery, Expected Back In 2 Weeks

(CBS) Bears linebacker Shea McClellin underwent surgery on his broken right hand earlier this week and is expected to be healthy enough to play within the next couple weeks, the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported Thursday afternoon.

McClellin suffered the injury in practice last week and missed Monday night's win against the Jets. The Bears have already ruled him out of this Sunday's game against the Packers at Soldier Field. On Wednesday, Chicago coach Marc Trestman called McClellin week to week.

The Tribune reported that McClellin "will miss just one or two more games" if the recovery goes to plan. Chicago plays at Carolina on Oct. 5 and at Atlanta on Oct. 12.

Bears linebacker Jon Bostic has seen his role expand in McClellin's absence, as he's received playing time on the strong side. He was credited with 14 tackles against the Jets after the team's film review.
