Report: Falcons Sign Rex Grossman To 1-Year Deal

(CBS) Former Bears quarterback and first-round draft pick Rex Grossman has found work again.

Grossman inked a one-year, $1-million deal with the Falcons on Wednesday, ESPN.com reported. Grossman will compete for the backup job behind starter Matt Ryan.

The 35-year-old Grossman spent 2011-'13 with the Redskins before not playing anywhere last season. He hasn't thrown a pass in the regular season since 2011, when he started 13 games and threw for 3,151 yards, 16 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

The Bears chose Grossman with the 22nd overall pick in 2003. He played in Chicago from 2003-'08.

Grossman will compete with T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree for the backup job.
