Report: Cubs Will Open 2017 Season At Rival Cardinals

(CBS) The Cubs will be on the road to face the rival Cardinals at Busch Stadium to open the 2017 season, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Friday.

Schedules haven't officially been released yet and likely won't be until the fall, but the Post-Dispatch cited sources who had seen the preliminary schedule that's been circulated to teams. The schedule is still subject to being adjusted.

The Cubs and Cardinals met to open up the entire MLB slate in 2015, with St. Louis winning the game. It was a night that will live in infamy, as Wrigley Field, amid a renovation, didn't have enough bathrooms for its patrons, with chaos ensuing as long lines formed and some fans leaving the game simply to use the facilities in nearby bars.
