Report: Bulls Hire Jim Boylen To Be Associate Head Coach

(CBS) -- The Chicago Bulls have hired San Antonio Spurs assistant Jim Boylen to be their associate head coach, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Boylen, 50, has worked under Gregg Popovich in San Antonio since 2013, and before that he was a Pacers assistant from 2011-'13 under Frank Vogel. He was the head coach at the University of Utah from 2007-'11.

Wojnaroski wrote that new Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg targeted Boylen because of his NBA experience and ability to manage defensive coverages. Hoiberg is highly regarded for his offensive acumen and said recently at his introductory press conference that he wanted a veteran assistant on his staff.
