Broncos Hire Joe DeCamillis As Special Teams Coach

(CBS) The Bears have essentially traded special teams coordinators with the Broncos.

Denver has hired Joe DeCamillis as its new special teams coordinator, the team announced Tuesday afternoon. The Broncos are compiling a new staff under new coach Gary Kubiak. This news comes one day after Chicago announced it had hired Jeff Rodgers as its new special teams coordinator, after he'd served in the same position the past four years in Denver under new Bears coach John Fox.

DeCamillis was the special teams coordinator in Chicago for the past two seasons, during which time those Bears' units ranged from fine to shaky to disastrous. Chicago was 25th in footballoutsiders.com's cumulative special teams rankings in 2014, a season after finishing 11th.

DeCamillis has previously served as a special teams coach for Denver from 1988-'92. He also worked for Giants, Falcons, Jaguars and Cowboys.
