Blackhawks Deal Rob Scuderi To Kings For Christian Ehrhoff

(CBS) The Blackhawks have traded defenseman Rob Scuderi to the Kings for defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, the team announced Friday.

The 37-year-old Scuderi has been a limited contributor for Chicago since he was acquired in a December trade that sent Trevor Daley to Pittsburgh, and he's been at AHL Rockford for the past week. He had appeared in 17 games for the Blackhawks this season.

Ehrhoff, 33, has 10 points in 40 games for the Kings this season. His contract expires at season's end, while Scuderi's runs through the end of the 2016-'17 season, so this would allow more cap room for the Blackhawks next year.

The Blackhawks reportedly also agreed to pay some of the remaining salary owed to Scuderi.

On Thursday night, the Blackhawks made their blockbuster move ahead of the deadline by acquiring forward Andrew Ladd from the Jets.
