Tyler Motte Forgoes Senior Season, Signs With Blackhawks
(CBS) Tyler Motte, a fourth-round pick of the Blackhawks in 2013, will forgo his senior season at Michigan and has signed a three-year deal with Chicago, the team announced Wednesday. The Michigan Daily's Jason Rubinstein first reported the news.
The contract begins with the 2016-'17 season.
A 21-year-old forward, Motte had 56 points (32 goals, 24 assists) in 38 games last season, when the Wolverines advanced to the national quarterfinals. The 32 goals by Motte ranked second in the nation.
Motte is a St. Clair, Michigan native. He was one of 10 finalists in 2015-'16 for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given to the nation's top college hockey player.
