Report: Bears' Will Montgomery Out For Season With Broken Fibula

(CBS) Bears center Will Montgomery is out for the season with his broken fibula requiring surgery, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday.

Chicago coach John Fox declined to comment on Montgomery's status beyond Sunday's game in Kansas City, stating he wouldn't play in that. However, he'll need to have surgery, the Tribune reported.

Montgomery was hurt early in the first quarter of the Bears' 22-20 win over the Raiders on Sunday, and Fox ruled it a broken fibula immediately after the game. Left guard Matt Slauson moved to center, and Patrick Omameh took Slauson's spot at left guard.

Additionally, Fox declined to discuss whether rookie center Hroniss Grasu will be stepping in at center. Grasu was inactive during Sunday's game, forcing Slauson to step in.

Fox did say that X-rays were negative for safety Antrel Rolle, who left the game Sunday with an ankle injury.
