Bears To Add Paul Pasqualoni To Coaching Staff

By Adam Hoge-

MOBILE, Ala. (CBS) -- Former Syracuse and Connecticut head coach Paul Pasqualoni is expected to join the Chicago Bears' coaching staff, as 670 The Score's Mike Mulligan first reported last week.

Pasqualoni, 64, sat with Bears coaches, including defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, Tuesday during Senior Bowl practices.

A Chicago Tribune report Tuesday further confirmed the move, but didn't specify which position Pasqualoni will fill. The Bears' linebackers and defensive line coaching positions are vacant.

The Bears are not commenting on the hire, but one source confirmed the two sides spoke last week before the parties arrived in Mobile for the Senior Bowl.

Pasqualoni was the head coach at Syracuse from 1991-2004 and at Connecticut from 2011-13. He fired four games into the 2013 season.

His NFL experience includes stints as the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys.
