Report: Bears Release TE Onobun

(CBS) The Bears have released tight end Fendi Onobun, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The move came after Thursday's final day of mini-camp ended. Competing to make the roster as a reserve after spending last season on the practice squad, Onobun had a series of bad drops over the past three days.

Onobun has spent time with six teams since being drafted in the sixth round in 2010 by the Rams.

Dante Rosario appears to have the inside track to be the backup tight end to Martellus Bennett heading into training camp, which begins in late July.
