Report: Bears Nearing Deal With LB D.J. Williams

(CBS) The Bears are nearing a deal to re-sign linebacker D.J. Williams, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday afternoon.

The contract is expected to be finalized prior to the start of Tuesday's free agency period, according to the Tribune. Williams had 39 tackles in six games for the Bears last season before tearing a pectoral muscle.

The Tribune reported the contract would most likely be a "short-term, low-risk offer."

Williams would have the inside track to start at middle linebacker if he comes back to the Bears.
