Report: Bears, Martellus Bennett Working Together On Trade

(CBS) Seeking an amicable divorce, the Bears are working with tight end Martellus Bennett's representation to find a trade fit, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Bears have been planning to trade Bennett this offseason, believing his volatile persona has run its course at Halas Hall, a source confirmed. That general manager Ryan Pace is working to find a landing spot with Bennett's agent, Kennard McGuire, comes as news.
"I haven't talked to him recently," Pace said at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week. "Really, with him, he's under contract. We have a lot of players that aren't under contract, so that's where our focus is right now."
Bennett, 28, recorded 53 receptions for three touchdowns and 439 yards in 11 games, but he was placed on season-ending IR in November due to a fracture in his ribs. He had a career-high 90 receptions in 2014.
In November, Bennett seemed to be uneasy about his role with the Bears, becoming a distraction for the team.
The Bears have parted ways with veterans Matt Forte and Jermon Bushrod already this offseason. Bennett could be next.
