Report: Apple Looking At New Michigan Avenue Location

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Apple is looking to move its flagship Michigan Avenue retail store, according to a published report.

The company is considering developing space on Pioneer Court, just south of the Tribune Tower at 401 North Michigan, along the Chicago Riveraccording to Crain's.

Sources tell the publication that the store would be mostly below ground, with an glass entrance at street level.

That plan could resemble Apple's glass-cube enclosure at its New York store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

The Pioneer Court location would provide a similar setup, allowing customers to descend from the street several floors below Michigan Avenue.

Apple has previously signaled that it was looking to move from its original location at 679 N. Michigan.
