Relatives Of Missing People Working To ID Jane, John Does In Illinois

(CBS) -- Families who have missing loved ones have banded together to help find the identities of the many unidentified dead in Illinois, reports WBBM's Steve Miller.

"These are someone's child," Jody Abrams Walsh. "Someone's son or daughter. They need to go home. They need to be with their family and have closure."

Walsh is still determined to find her sister, who's been missing from Will County since 1990.

She is also devoting her time and efforts to try to help identify a John Doe: a man whose burned body was found in a car in the 8700 block of South Western in Chicago a year ago this month.

There's a new composite sketch of the man.

"He has a gap between his teeth, and he was burned beyond recognition in the car wreck," Walsh said.
