Redesign Planned At Museum Of Contemporary Art

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago is getting a bit of a makeover.

The museum announced Friday that it has hired an architectural firm to "re-imagine" the museum's layout and design a new restaurant and education facilities to open in May 2016. Museum officials also say a Dutch design studio has been hired to develop a new logo, website design, publications and signs.

Museum officials also announced it is receiving a $10 million gift from the Kenneth C. Griffin Charitable Fund that will be used to create the Griffin Galleries of Contemporary Art. Griffin has been on the MCA Board of Trustees since 2000.

His donation goes toward the museum's Vision Campaign, which to date has raised $60 million of a $64 million goal.
