Highs climb to the 50s on Thursday in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Record warmth is expected Thursday in Chicago. 

Highs will be near 55 degrees. The record of 55 degrees was set in 1988. 

Rain showers arrive during the evening rush with heavy downpours likely for Friday morning. Highs will lower to the 40s on Friday. 

Weekend temperatures dip to the 30s on Saturday and then climb to the 50s again on Sunday for Groundhog Day. 

Next week will be colder with temperatures in the 30s.
