Rare Coins Stolen From Loop Store

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police are searching for some rare coins they were stolen during a break-in Saturday morning.

Police say at about 5:30 a.m. someone broke into Harlan J. Berk Rare Coins on Clark and Washington.

They took an assortment of coins, including gold coins. A store representative says there is plenty of security, so the criminals really had to work hard.

"The alarm system did what it was supposed to because when it went off it scared them off before they could do more damage," said Robert Greenstein, the CFO of Harlan J. Berk.

The store has surveillance video of the burglary and police are reviewing it. No one was hurt.
