Purse Robberies Reported On Near North Side

CHICAGO (CBS)--Hold onto your purse and cellphone because there have been multiple robberies in the in the Near North area.

Police said eight robberies have been reported recently.

In each case, a group of robbers come up to the victim from behind, then steal their belongings and run off to a getaway car.

During one of the robberies at least one suspect was armed and threatened to shoot the victim.
