Prosecutors: Oak Brook Couple Sent Threatening Letter To Judges

(STMW) -- A west suburban couple have been charged with illegally contacting two DuPage County judges, including by sending a threatening letter earlier this month.

Sanford Kramer, 65, sent two letters and his 57-year-old wife Cynthia Kramer sent one to the judges in early August, according to the DuPage County state's attorney's office.

One of the man's letter's "was of a threatening nature," prosecutors said.

The couple were arrested Friday at their home in the 100 bock of Saddle Brook Drive in Oak Brook, authorities said.

Sanford Kramer faces a felony count of threatening a public official, and his wife faces a felony disorderly conduct charge of filing a false crime report.

They appeared in court Saturday, where he was ordered held on a $500,000 bond and she on a $150,000 bond.

The husband is due back in court Sept. 8, while Cynthia Kramer is set to appear Sept. 14.
