Prosecutors: Drunken Man Hits Cops, Shapes Hand Into A Gun
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A North Riverside man allegedly hit a cop, then shaped his hand into a gun, threatening to kill the officer who came to the Chinese restaurant where he had been drunkenly screaming obscenities minutes before, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
Jamal Issa, 22, hit the North Riverside cop in the chest and refused to be handcuffed after Thursday's incident outside the Chef Shangri-La restaurant, in the 7900 block of West 26th Street, Cook County prosecutors said.
Issa began screaming profanities while intoxicated inside the eatery, prosecutors said.
He allegedly hit the responding officer in the establishment's parking lot. He also made his right hand into the shape of a gun and pointed his fingers at the cop, saying, "Wait til I see you on the street. I'm gonna kill you n----," repeatedly, according to a police report.
Issa is charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting an officer, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Judge Donald Panarese Jr. released Issa on a $50,000 individual recognizance bond Saturday. Issa was ordered to remain on electronic monitoring while he awaits trial.
