President Obama Is Interested In Owning A Piece Of An NBA Team

(CBS) President Barack Obama is interested in owning a piece of an NBA team down the road, the Washington Post reported.

A Chicago native and avid basketball fan, Obama has discussed the idea of having an owner's stake "if the opportunity arose under the right circumstances," White House press secretary Josh Earnest told the Washington Post.

Obama is a fan of the Bulls, and he attended the team's season-opening victory against the Cavaliers at the United Center last October.

Whether there could potentially be much of a role for Obama in the Bulls ownership group is unclear. The Bulls have been owned by chairman Jerry Reinsdorf since 1985, and his son, Michael, is the team's CEO.

Obama is expected to remain in Washington D.C. for at least two years after he leaves office.
