Polls Show Mayor Emanuel Gaining Momentum

(CBS) -- Two polls released by the Chicago-based polling firm Ogden and Fry show Mayor Rahm Emanuel with an edge over his opponent, Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia.

In a poll conducted on March 21 among 951 respondents, Emanuel led Garcia 48.5 percent to 32.1 percent with 18.4 percent undecided and a margin of error of +/- 3.24 percent.

In a poll conducted on March 20 among 877 respondents, Emanuel led Garcia 55. 8 percent to 44.2 percent, with no undecided option and a margin of error of +/- 3.38 percent.

Last week, Ogden and Fry polls had Emanuel leading Garcia 54,7 percent to 45.3 percent without and undecided option and leading 47.1 percent to 36. 7 percent with 16.2 percent undecided.

Ogden and Fry attributes Emanuel's lead to his use of attack ads, but says turnout and under-polling Hispanics are factors to consider.
