Police: Woman Shot While 'Investigating Noises' In South Chicago

(STMW) -- A woman was shot while "investigating noises" at an abandoned house in the South Chicago neighborhood early Saturday.

The woman, 29, was standing in front of the house in the 8100 block of South Manistee about 12:30 a.m. when she heard noises on the side of the building, police said.

She went to investigate the noises and someone fired several shots in her direction, police said.

The woman was shot in the ankle and suffered a graze wound to the arm, police said. Se was taken in good condition to South Shore Hospital.
