Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted Near Bus Stop

(STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman early Thursday at a bus stop on the Near West Side.

The woman, whose age was not provided, was waiting for the bus in the 2100 block of West Madison Street at 5:05 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown man, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The man grabbed her and took her to a secluded area, where she was sexually assaulted. The woman fought off the man, at which time he hit her and ran away westbound, police said.
