Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted After Asking For Directions

(CBS) -- Chicago police say a woman was sexually assaulted Monday after asking a man for directions.

The woman was walking south on Kedzie Ave. at 19th St. when she encountered the offender. She asked him for directions to go back home and the offender directed her to go through Douglas Park.

As the victim was walking through the park, police say the man caught up with the woman and put an unknown object, which the victim believed to be a weapon, to her head and sexually assaulted her. The victim then fled through the park in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a black man between the ages of 25-25, approximately 5'09" with a thin build with brown eyes, black hair and clean shaven.
