Police: Woman Kidnapped Her Two Young Children In Chatham

(STMW) -- Police are searching for a woman who kidnapped her two young children from their foster parent Thursday afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Antoinette Knox, 26, took her two biological children--a 9-month-old boy and a 4-year-old girl--from their foster parent about 4:45 p.m. in the 900 block of East 80th Street, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Knox does not have legal custody of the children and took them during a scheduled supervised visit, the alert said.

She has a history of domestic violence and has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and mild mental retardation, police said.

Knox was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket and multi-colored leggings, the alert said. The infant was wearing a one-piece outfit, and the girl was wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt, police said.

Anyone with information should call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8271.
