Police: Woman Abducted, Sexually Assaulted At Gunpoint In Ashburn

(STMW) -- A woman was abducted and sexually assaulted at gunpoint early Wednesday in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood.

The 30-year-old woman was walking eastbound on 83rd Street between Washtenaw and Talman about 1:30 a.m. when two men in a silver late-model Buick pulled up, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

One man got out of the Buick and grabbed her from behind and forced her into the vehicle, police said. He sexually assaulted the woman while the second man, who was armed with a handgun, continued to drive.

The woman was released and police were notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
