Police: Woman, 26, Dies In Crash On NW Side

(STMW) -- A 26-year-old woman died early Sunday after a two-vehicle crash in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

At 2:13 a.m., the woman was driving south in the 2800 block of North Pulaski when she lost control of her vehicle and it struck another car in oncoming traffic, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Gaines said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

No one else was injured and further details were not available.
