Police Warn Of Strong-Arm Robberies In Lakeview, Uptown

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are cautioning North Side residents after a series of strong-arm robberies last month in Lakeview and Uptown.

Two men have walked up to people from behind and, in one instance, engaged victims in conversation before using force to take their belongings, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened about:

— 2:15 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 2800 block of North Clark Street;

— 2:30 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 400 block of West Wellington Avenue; and

— 2:15 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 4700 block of North Clark Street.

Police said the robberies were carried out by two medium-build men, one black and the other white.
