Police Warn Of Sexual Assault In Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police warned women in the Lincoln Park neighborhood to be on alert, after a sexual assault over the weekend, just blocks away from the DePaul University campus.

Police said, sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, a 24-year-old woman was attacked while she was walking in the 2500 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

The woman told police a man grabbed her by the hand and began fondling her, then dragged her into an alley and raped her.

Police said the suspect ran away after the attack.

A community alert warned people in the area to walk in pairs, and to be aware of their surroundings.
