Police Warn Of Robberies On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents of a series of robberies over the past two weeks in the West Garfield Park and East Garfield Park neighborhoods on the West Side.

The robberies occurred at:

11:15 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 1100 block of South Pulaski Road;
6:10 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 3000 block of West Flournoy Street;
6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the 4300 block of East Van Buren Street;
6:05 a.m. 0ct. 3 in the 3300 block of West Harrison Street.

In each incident, a suspect displayed a gun and took cell phones, wallets and credit cards from people on the street, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

One suspect is described as a 19-to-28-year-old, 5-foot-8 to 6-foot black man. Another suspect is described as a 38-to-43-year-old, 5-foot-9 to 6-foot, 190-to-210 pound black man with a medium complexion.
