Police Warn Of Robberies In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Chicago Police are warning residents about several robberies reported in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side earlier this month.

Three robberies have happened in the neighborhood since Jan. 11, according to a community alert from police.

The robberies occurred:

• At 5:57 p.m on Jan. 11 in the 4000 block of West Harrison;
• At 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the 1000 block of South Keeler;
• And at 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the 900 block of South Springfield.

In each robbery, one to two males threaten or use force to demand money from people, police said.

One of the robbers is described as a black male, standing 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds, police said. The other robber is described as a 17 to 19-year-old black male.
