Police Warn Of Cell Phone Thefts On CTA Red Line Trains

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Chicago Police are warning residents of a recent string of thefts on Red Line CTA trains at the Wilson station in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

In three incidents, the suspect grabs a cell phone from a person's hand and runs off the train, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
The thefts occurred:

- about 2:15 a.m. Dec. 28;
- about 10:45 p.m. Jan. 9; and
- about 11:25 p.m. Jan. 14.

In the Dec. 28 incident, the suspect is described as a black man, between 18 and 25 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt with the "American Eagle" brand logo over a blue hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants.
