Police Warn Of Armed Robberies In Armour Square

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents about a pair of armed robberies reported earlier this month in the Armour Square neighborhood on the South Side.

In the reported incidents, two robbers have approached lone female victims, displayed a handgun and demanded their property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The first robbery was reported about 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the 200 block of West 28th Place, police said. The second was reported about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 in the 1900 block of South Wells.

One of the suspects is described as a 130-pound, bald black man between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot-3 with a medium complexion, police said. The other is a 100-pound black man between 5-foot-5 and 6 feet tall with an Afro hairstyle and a dark complexion.
