Police Warn About Thefts Of Unattended Running Vehicles

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents about a series of auto thefts reported since November on the Near North Side and in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

In each of the reported incidents, victims left their vehicles running and unattended and someone took them, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Police said the thefts have occurred "in all hours of the day" in the following locations:

• In the 800 block of North Larrabee Nov. 4;
• In the 200 block of West Scott Nov. 4;
• In the 1600 block of North Wells Nov. 18;
• In the 1900 block of North Sheffield Nov. 21;
• In the 400 block of West Division Nov. 23;
• In the 1600 block of North Vine Dec. 5.
