Police: Up To 500 Car Tires Punctured In Libertyville Last Week

Police in north suburban Libertyville have provided more information about a tire vandalism spree last week.

Libertyville police said as many as 500 car tires might have been destroyed by being punctured between Thursday night and early Friday morning.

The vehicles were in people's driveways, and the parking lots of auto dealerships.

So far, surveillance videos from the homes and dealerships has not been helpful.

"With the angle that cameras are placed, and with it being dark in all of these locations, so far we haven't been able to recover any video that's been useable," said Libertyville Police Det. Ed Swider.

The detective said he plans to check with other businesses along Milwaukee Avenue to find out if they have video that might show a suspect or suspects.
