CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were killed and a boy was injured in a South Side shooting Tuesday afternoon.

About 3:20 p.m., the three were standing outside in the 2200 block of East 79th Street when another male walked up and opened fire, police said.

One man, 19, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene at 3:38 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. The other man, 18, was also shot in the head and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m.

The boy -- described by police only as a "juvenile" -- was shot in both legs and taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said. His condition was not immediately available.

The Cook County medical examiner's office did not release the identities of the two people killed Tuesday night.
